À la mémoire de

Edward Wadleigh

1927 - 2025

Ted Wadleigh passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Magog Hospital on March 16th, 2025 on his 97th year.  He was the youngest of four children (Margaret, Douglas and William).  He was the son of Bessie Jones and Francis Wadleigh.  He was born in Montreal and grew up in Stanstead and later in Beebe, Quebec.

Ted was a graduate of the Bugbee Business School at Stanstead College.  He played football for the Spartans.  He started working at Rock of Ages Granite Company and then Butterfield’s as a statistician.

Ted was an avid skier at Jay Peak, VT, and was an active member of the Border Curling Club in Beebe.  He was also involved with the Masons at the branch in Stanstead. He enjoyed spending summers at the cottage in Fitch Bay with his family.

Ted leaves behind his wife Jean McIntosh of 69 years, daughter Elizabeth and is predeceased by his youngest daughter Catherine Ann who passed away in December of 2024.  He also leaves behind a niece Dr. Margaret McCallum and her family as well as a nephew Ian Wadleigh.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in the summer.

Ted was passionate about animals and had many pets throughout the years.  He was a strong supporter of the Frontier Animal Society and the SPCA in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the compassion and kindness Ted received on the 6th floor of Magog Hospital as well as Amy, Nathalie, Pauline and Penny.   A special thank you to Kim and Karina and the CLSC team in Stanstead for all of their help and support over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, Ted’s wishes were to have donations go to the Frontier Animal Society (2405 Griffin, Ogden, QC J0B 3E3) in his memory.
